Senior Accountant

We are looking for a strategic, detail-oriented, and highly organized Senior Accounting Specialist to join our finance team in İstanbul.

Directly supporting the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in owning and coordinating core accounting processes across international operations, including month-end closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory and group reporting. You will ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP, maintain strong financial controls, and act as a key point of contact for audit and accounting-related matters in an international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and ensure compliance of accounting processes under IFRS and local GAAP in SAP
• Own and coordinate month-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Own preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and drive timely resolution of outstanding and complex items
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, including maintaining a robust audit trail
• Prepare accurate and timely financial data for statutory, tax, group, and internal reporting
• Lead internal and external audit processes, including preparation of documentation and resolution of audit queries
• Analyse accounting topics and ensure appropriate accounting treatment in line with IFRS and local GAAP
• Oversee and support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes where required
• Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes, systems, and controls
• Act as a key point of contact for accounting-related matters within the finance function
• Collaborate closely with financial controllers, tax teams, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team

What We Expect from You:

• Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience in accounting (local CPA certification is a plus)
• Hands-on experience with SAP (FI module required; CO–MM and FI–MM are a strong advantage)
• Proven experience in month-end closing, balance sheet management, and audit processes
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups), Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and IFRS
• Experience in the preparation of financial statement reporting packages
• Ability to work effectively in an international environment, including collaboration with remote and cross-border teams
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and international teams
