Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Legacy CPAs is a growing public accounting firm based in Mesa, Arizona, serving small- to medium-sized businesses across the United States. We specialize in bookkeeping, tax preparation, and tax planning.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This Senior Accountant role is responsible for managing accounting functions for multiple clients, maintaining accurate financial records, and producing reliable financial statements. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who enjoys working in public accounting, managing multiple clients, and using QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop in a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Prepare monthly and periodic financial statements for multiple clients
  • Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
  • Identify discrepancies and perform detailed account analysis to resolve issues
  • Manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and adjusting journal entries
  • Prepare and file 1099s
  • Sales Tax reporting and Personal Property Tax
  • Record and reconcile payroll-related journal entries and maintain payroll accuracy
  • Work directly with clients, providing professional communication and support
  • Utilize QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop for bookkeeping and reporting
  • Manage multiple clients and deadlines in a public accounting environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or public accounting
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and payroll-related accounting entries
  • Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple clients
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-service mindset
  • Capable of juggling multiple tasks and clients while meeting strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and paperless systems.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
