As part of our growing operations, we are looking to strengthen our finance team with an experienced Senior Accountant.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with proven experience in the landscaping or construction sector in the UAE. The role involves managing end-to-end accounting operations, with a strong focus on project accounting, cost control, compliance, and financial reporting.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & General Ledger

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
• Manage the full general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes within strict deadlines
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data

Project Accounting & Cost Control (Core Focus)

• Monitor project costing, budgeting, and job profitability across multiple projects
• Track revenue recognition (percentage of completion) and project progress
• Analyze cost variances and provide actionable insights to management
• Review subcontractor costs, LPOs, and material usage against budgets
• Support tendering with historical cost data and financial analysis

Receivables, Payables & Cash Flow

• Oversee invoicing, progress billing, and certification
• Monitor collections and client payment follow-ups
• Manage supplier and subcontractor payments
• Support cash flow forecasting and treasury functions

Compliance & VAT (UAE Focus)

• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT laws, including return filing and documentation
• Maintain audit-ready financial records and VAT documentation
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies

Reconciliations & Asset Management

• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and intercompany reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset register, depreciation, and tracking

Audit & Internal Controls

• Coordinate with auditors and support audit processes
• Strengthen internal controls and identify financial risks

Payroll & Reporting

• Review payroll accounting in coordination with HR
• Prepare MIS and management reports
• Provide financial insights to support decision-making

Leadership & Coordination

• Liaise with banks, vendors, and authorities
• Supervise and mentor junior finance staff
• Identify process improvements and drive efficiency

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5–8 years of experience, preferably in UAE landscaping/construction companies (strongly preferred)
• Strong knowledge of project accounting and cost control
• Good understanding of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel
• Experience in audits and regulatory compliance
• ACCA/CPA/CMA is an advantage
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale landscaping or infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with BOQ, subcontracting, and procurement cycles
• UAE driving license (optional)
