Senior Accountant

Position Summary

Vege Labs LLC is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support core accounting functions in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and assisting with financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and company policies. The Senior Accountant works closely with the VP of Finance and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including inventory, COGS, accruals, and prepaid expenses
• Support cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation and variance analysis
• Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions for accuracy and proper coding
• Assist with financial reporting, internal analysis, and management reporting
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
• Assist with sales and use tax reporting and other regulatory filings
• Support internal and external audits
• Identify process improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with Production, Operations, QA, and Management teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience in manufacturing environments with inventory and cost accounting responsibilities strongly preferred, particularly within personal care products, cosmetics, CPG, or related industries.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting
• Proficiency in accounting systems (AccountMate experience a plus)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Work Environment

• On-site role based in Glendale, CA
• Monday through Friday schedule
• Additional hours may be required during month-end, year-end, and audit periods

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
