Job Description
Sustainability Partners is seeking an experienced accountant located in Arizona or the Eastern Time Zone to join us at a pivotal moment in our growth, as we redefine how essential infrastructure is funded, delivered, and maintained across the country. This position works closely with development partners and capital providers across all facets of the investment process. A demonstrated ability to apply strong analytical skills with deep expertise in financial accounting, forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics is imperative.
Day-to-day responsibilities include assistance with the corporate financial and accounting functions including billing, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, and other functions.
Responsibilities include:
- Support day-to-day accounting operations in accordance with GAAP, including AR/AP, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, job costing, work-in-progress calculations, month-end and year-end close, audit support, and financial analysis
- Communicate updates related to contracts, insurance, and project budgets
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for accounting and financial information
- Assist in preparing accurate financial reports and analyses
- Prepare ad hoc and supplemental reports as needed
- Provide requested documentation to banks, auditors, and tax advisors
- Support special projects with organized and reliable financial data
- Prepare monthly financial summaries for investors
- Assist with updating and maintaining written accounting procedures
Qualifications:
- Preference for candidates located in Arizona or in the Eastern Time Zone
- CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
- Experience in infrastructure, construction, or other high-growth environments preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
- 5+ years accounting experience
- Expertise in GAAP, Internal Controls, Financial Planning, and process improvements
- Strong quantitative and analytical competency
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
- Highly competitive spirit with a passion to learn and grow
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize ideas and data clearly and concisely in a persuasive, organized, and appropriate manner to both finance and non-finance business leaders and executive leadership teams
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Accounting Software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while being self-motivated to learn new concepts
