Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & General Ledger

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (IFRS compliant)
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
• Handle month-end and year-end closing
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records

Project Accounting & Cost Control (Key Focus)

• Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability
• Manage revenue recognition using percentage of completion method
• Analyze cost variances and provide insights
• Review subcontractor costs, purchase orders, and material usage
• Support tendering with financial analysis

Receivables, Payables & Cash Flow

• Manage invoicing, progress billing, and payment certificates
• Track customer collections and follow-ups
• Handle supplier and subcontractor payments
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital control

Compliance & VAT (UAE)

• Ensure VAT compliance and timely filing
• Maintain audit-ready records and documentation
• Strengthen internal controls and financial policies

Reconciliations & Asset Management

• Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules

Audit & Reporting

• Coordinate with external auditors during audits
• Prepare MIS and management reports
• Provide financial insights for decision-making

Leadership & Coordination

• Coordinate with banks, vendors, and authorities
• Supervise junior finance staff
• Improve processes and financial workflows

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 10 years of UAE experience (construction/landscaping preferred)
• Strong project accounting and cost control experience
• Good knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations
• Strong Excel and ERP system skills
• Experience in audits and compliance
• Strong analytical and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Preferred

• ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA qualification
• Experience in large landscaping or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of BOQs, subcontracting, and procurement cycles
• UAE driving license is optional
