Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process enhancements.
- Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits related to financial reporting.
- Support payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, UltiPro, Kronos, or Paychex; handle benefits administration and related HRIS (Human Resources Information System) functions.
- Assist with governmental and non-profit accounting requirements, including tax filings and compliance documentation.
- Perform account reconciliation tasks regularly to maintain accurate financial records across multiple accounts such as cash, receivables, payables, and payroll.
- Contribute to the development of internal controls and process improvements for bookkeeping and financial reporting activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong understanding of GAAP standards.
- Extensive hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and analysis skills.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems including ADP, Ceridian, UltiPro or Kronos is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and internal control frameworks is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes along with benefits administration experience preferred.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry tasks such as 10 key typing efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
