Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person; No remote work

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience

Reports To: Controller and Assistant Controller

Position Summary

We are Agata & Valentina, one of NYC’s Premier specialty food companies, and are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles/concepts and practices. The Senior Accountant will be supporting the Controller and Assistant Controller. Essential Duties

· Assist in the daily operations of the accounting department with a strong focus on Accounts Payable and Costing

· Review the account payable process and perform daily duties including reconciling vendor’s statements, prepare journal entries and perform bank reconciliations to ensure a timely monthly closing

· Update and maintain monthly closing schedules

· Update various financial charts and analysis

· Conduct cash flow analysis

· Ensure that the company is adhering to cash management and audit policies and procedures

· Special projects as needed

Qualifications and Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a retail, food, or consumer goods environment

· Strong experience in Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, and Month-End Close processes

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and well versed in the use of accounting software

· Experience in inventory management and food costing is highly desirable

· Strong understanding of financial concepts and reporting standards

· Experience in public accounting a plus

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

· Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed during month-end close, audits, and other deadline-driven periods

· Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

· SQL Experience a plus

· GAAP Accounting: Minimum 5 years (Required)

· Microsoft Excel Proficiency: Minimum 5 years (Required)
