Senior Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
  • Oversee payroll management and benefits administration utilizing systems like ADP, UltiPro, Kronos, or Workday.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by implementing internal audit procedures and documenting processes thoroughly.
  • Assist with external audits by preparing necessary documentation and providing insights into financial data.
  • Support governmental and non-profit accounting functions, including compliance with specific regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills; maintain meticulous records for all financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with human resources teams on payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS systems like Ceridian or PeopleSoft.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency within the accounting department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience working in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms; familiarity with Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience with payroll management systems like Paychex or Ceridian; knowledge of benefits administration is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and internal controls testing procedures.
  • Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with effective communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Pay: $81,517.13 - $98,171.16 per year
