PTWL is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with strong experience in the UAE construction or landscaping sector. The successful candidate will take full ownership of end-to-end accounting functions, with a strong focus on project accounting, cost control, compliance, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Reporting & General Ledger
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all financial records.
2. Project Accounting & Cost Control (Core Focus)
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and overall project profitability.
- Manage revenue recognition using the percentage of completion method.
- Analyze cost variances and provide actionable financial insights.
- Review subcontractor costs, LPOs, and material consumption.
- Support tendering and bidding processes with financial analysis and cost data.
3. Receivables, Payables & Cash Flow Management
- Oversee invoicing, progress billing, and certification processes.
- Monitor client collections and ensure timely payment follow-ups.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor payments.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
4. Compliance & VAT (UAE)
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and timely tax filings.
- Maintain audit-ready financial records and documentation.
- Enforce internal financial controls and company accounting policies.
5. Reconciliations & Asset Management
- Perform bank, customer, and supplier reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
6. Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Strengthen internal controls and support risk mitigation initiatives.
7. Payroll & Management Reporting
- Review payroll accounting in coordination with HR.
- Prepare MIS reports and financial dashboards for management.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
8. Leadership & Coordination
- Liaise with banks, vendors, and government authorities as required.
- Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably in UAE construction or landscaping companies.
- Strong expertise in project accounting and cost control.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
- Experience in audits and financial compliance.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
