Duties
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft, ensuring timely processing and accurate record-keeping.
- Oversee payroll management activities utilizing systems like ADP, UltiPro, Ceridian, or Kronos, including benefits administration and payroll tax compliance.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Assist with internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation.
- Support corporate accounting functions including general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, and month-end closing procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and payroll departments to ensure seamless data entry and accurate reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting concepts.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP or UltiPro and benefits administration processes.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes, account reconciliation techniques, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Experience with SOX compliance requirements and internal control procedures.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Proficiency in data entry tasks such as 10-key typing along with attention to detail for journal entries and ledger management.
