Senior Accountant – Contracting Experience

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the daily accounting operations for our contracting company. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of project-based accounting, job costing, supplier payments, and monthly financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full accounting cycle including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Handle project cost control, job costing, and monthly project profitability reports.
• Review and verify supplier invoices, subcontractor bills, and progress payments.
• Monitor PETTY CASH, store ledgers, material consumption, and site-level expenses.
• Manage WPS payroll, employee advances, and leave settlements.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, VAT return filing, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare cash flow statements, forecast fund requirements, and support management decisions.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, and external regulatory bodies.
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
• Assist management with budgeting, cost optimization, and financial analysis.
• Lead and support junior accounting staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years experience in the contracting/construction industry in UAE.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost control, and VAT.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with progress billing, variation orders, and retention accounting.
• Strong understanding of contracting workflows (LPO, delivery notes, site reports, subcontract agreements).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
