ROLE OVERVIEW
As our Senior Accountant / Controller, you will own the day-to-day and long-term financial operations across our portfolio of entities. We are not looking for someone to grow into this role — we are looking for someone who has already mastered it and wants to apply that mastery in a steady, well-organized environment. You will set the standard for how our financial operations run and bring the confidence and competence that only comes from years of hands-on experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Perform bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities
- Process and categorize financial transactions across all supported entities
- Manage accounts payable (AP) — invoice entry, coding, and payment tracking
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) — invoice tracking and collections follow-up
- Perform regular bank and financial account reconciliations
- Track loan payments and maintain supporting documentation
- Review and categorize expenses in expense platforms
- Assist with employee reimbursement review, documentation, and approval tracking
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and manage annual financial reports across entities
- Assist with budget tracking and cash flow reporting
- Coordinate and support federal and state tax filings, working with outside CPAs and legal counsel as needed
- Monitor and maintain business registrations, licenses, and compliance filings across all entities
- Keep accounting documentation organized and audit-ready at all times
- Provide a weekly summary of outstanding accounting items requiring review
Fund & Entity Operations
- Support fund accounting and record-keeping as needed
- Maintain AP and AR tracking schedules across entities
- Prepare reconciliation support documentation for review
- Handle confidential financial information responsibly and with discretion
Systems & Process Improvement
- Draw on your experience to identify inefficiencies and implement better processes
- Build and maintain scalable financial systems and organized documentation
IDEAL BACKGROUND
We are specifically seeking candidates with substantial, hands-on accounting and financial experience. The right person for this role has seen it all, brings calm authority to financial operations, and is not looking to reinvent their career — just do excellent work in a role that fits well.
- Significant accounting or controller-level experience (10+ years strongly preferred)
- Deep familiarity with multi-entity accounting and financial operations
- Prior experience in a controller, senior accountant, or similar capacity
- Strong command of accounting software such as QuickBooks or equivalent
- Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and financial data analysis
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational discipline
- Outstanding written communication and documentation skills
- CPA license or CPA background is a strong plus
- Experience with family office, private investment, or multi-entity environments is a plus
