Overview
PrizMED Imaging is a small but growing medical imaging equipment company in Highland Heights, OH, serving hospitals, veterinary practices, and imaging centers across the country. We are a lean team where your work is visible to leadership and good performance leads to real opportunity.
We are looking for an accountant with solid full-cycle experience who is ready to take on more responsibility and grow into a Controller role. This position reports to the CFO and VP of Finance. The person we hire will be expected to be ready for the Controller role within 6 to 12 months. If you have been doing strong accounting work and have not had the opportunity to step up, this is worth a look.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle across three legal entities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Own and execute the monthly close process and prepare internal financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports for management review.
- Receive, review, and enter vendor invoices; match to purchase orders and verify quantities, pricing, and approvals.
- Prepare and process check runs and electronic payments based on management approval.
- Record cash disbursements and reconcile payment, credit card, and cash activity across entities.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Track and reconcile high-value equipment inventory (MRI and CT units, parts) in coordination with operations.
- Maintain vendor files and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies or inquiries.
- Monitor and organize incoming accounting emails related to invoices, statements, and vendor inquiries.
- Prepare and present accounts payable aging and financial reports to management.
- Manage day-to-day accounting in QuickBooks Online.
- Document accounting procedures and develop processes that will support the Controller role.
- Assist with year-end close and tax workpapers as needed.
Skills Required
- 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle work beyond accounts payable.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard accounting tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred
- Experience with multiple legal entities or intercompany accounting.
- Background in a product-based, equipment, distribution, or medical device business.
- Knowledge of purchase order systems, three-way matching, and inventory accounting.
- Experience supporting year-end tax filings or external audits.
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus, but not required.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
