Job Summary

The Senior Accountant with experience in auditing firm is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing and analyzing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes. This role also involves mentoring junior staff, improving accounting processes, and contributing to strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.

Conduct variance analysis between actuals, budgets, and forecasts.

Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations.

General Accounting

Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper classification of transactions.

Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements.

Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.

Compliance & Audit

Ensure compliance with GAAP / IFRS and internal accounting policies.

Assist with internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules and documentation.

Support tax filings, regulatory reports, and other statutory requirements.

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to streamline accounting operations and improve accuracy.

Implement and maintain accounting systems and controls.

Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Leadership & Collaboration

Supervise and mentor junior accountants and accounting assistants.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as finance, procurement, and operations.

Support management with financial insights for decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.

4–7 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting experience is a plus).

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of GAAP / IFRS principles.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle).

Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
