Senior Accountant – Fund Accounting & Investment Operations

Overview:

We are hiring a Senior Accountant – Fund Accounting & Investment Operations for a financial services and investment management organization. The role requires strong hands-on exposure to Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), particularly Category II structures, with experience managing end-to-end fund accounting, NAV calculation, trade-level accounting, investor reporting, and Indian tax compliance.

Responsibilities

Fund Accounting & Investment Operations

• Perform end-to-end fund accounting activities for AIF / investment fund structures
• Manage daily trade-level accounting, reconciliations, and investment transaction recording
• Prepare and review NAV calculations with high accuracy
• Handle subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, drawdowns, and distributions
• Maintain fund books and investment accounting records
• Monitor fund-level P&L, expense allocations, accruals, and fee calculations
• Coordinate with custodians, auditors, fund administrators, and investment teams

Investor Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare investor reporting packs, capital account statements, and performance summaries
• Support regulatory reporting and compliance requirements
• Manage Indian tax compliance related to investment fund operations
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, fund documentation, and internal controls

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare financial statements and reconciliations in line with IFRS and applicable regulations
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and annual closing activities
• Conduct variance analysis and support management reporting requirements
• Assist in improving accounting processes and operational efficiencies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
• CA / CPA / CFA qualification preferred
• 5–12 years of experience in fund accounting, investment operations, or alternative investment fund environments
• Mandatory hands-on exposure to AIF Category II fund operations
• Strong experience in NAV calculation, trade-level accounting, investor reporting, and fund P&L
• Exposure to Indian tax compliance within investment/fund structures preferred
• Strong understanding of IFRS, investment accounting, and fund operations workflows
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with fund accounting platforms/software
• Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
