Senior Accountant/ Payroll manager

<Job Overview>
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will oversee comprehensive accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial standards, and contribute to accurate financial reporting. Your expertise will help us maintain transparent financial practices and support our mission to provide exceptional educational services.

<Responsibilities>

  • Manage general ledger accounting, including account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and journal entries using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
  • Conduct regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements for internal controls
  • Support budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to aid strategic decision-making
  • Perform cash management activities including bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow
  • Assist with technical accounting issues related to governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and public accounting standards

<Experience>

  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role within public accounting, governmental agencies, or non-profit organizations and schools
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and governmental accounting standards
  • Excellent skills in financial report writing, financial analysis, and general ledger reconciliation
  • Ability to interpret complex financial data with strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
  • Prior experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management within a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
