Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our financial team. Duties
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping processes, including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online/Desktop, Xero, etc.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify ledger accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly.
- Oversee general ledger accounting activities, including month-end closing procedures and accrual accounting practices.
- Assist with financial report writing, interpretation of financial data, and presentation of findings to management for strategic planning.
- Support internal controls compliance by implementing SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and maintaining audit readiness.
- Collaborate with teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial management initiatives to optimize cash flow and operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior staff or interns in bookkeeping practices, accounting software usage, and financial concepts to foster team development.
- Ensure adherence to securities law, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting regulations where applicable.
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate or non-profit accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP standards.
- Extensive knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles, debits & credits, and journal entry preparation.
- Demonstrated expertise with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar platforms; proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Experience in financial analysis, cash flow management, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation is highly desirable.
- Background in Hospitality Sector accounting is a plus; experience with insurance and HR laws and regulations is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately while meeting deadlines.
