Senior Accounting Specialist

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our accounting team. This position will work closely with existing staff and management to support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and help ensure efficient processes across the department.

The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise experience, payroll knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and a willingness to collaborate with others in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation
$65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and enter journal entries as needed.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Support job costing and project accounting processes.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with accounting team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks.
  • Share accounting knowledge, best practices, and process improvements with the team.
  • Assist in maintaining accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Support management with reporting requests and special projects.
  • Serve as a resource for QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise questions and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience.
  • Strong QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise experience.
  • Payroll processing experience.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or job-costing environments.
  • Experience assisting with process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting or training team members.
