This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Acoustic & Audio Consultant for SH Acoustics ("SHA"). SHA is an acoustic and audio consulting firm specializing in the quality & control of sound within a space. We are nationally & internationally renowned for our extensive work in museums & exhibit-based spaces, luxury residential spaces, private theaters, recording/broadcast studios, & other commercial/institutional projects. Our clients range from corporate executives, celebrities, & royalty to top museums like the Smithsonian. We partner with architects, exhibit designers, audio-visual integrators, & builders to satisfy project requirements. We have an outstanding portfolio of successful projects all over the world.
The Senior Acoustic & Audio Consultant will be responsible for collaborating with the team to develop and implement acoustic designs for various building types. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site surveys, providing design recommendations, creating reports, attending client meetings, and coordinating with architects, interior designers, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their acoustic needs and provide appropriate solutions
- Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate acoustic conditions and identify areas for improvement
- Design and implement acoustic treatments to enhance sound quality and reduce noise levels
- Utilize specialized software and equipment to measure and analyze acoustic data
- Develop comprehensive reports outlining findings, recommendations, and cost estimates
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate acoustic solutions into building designs
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in acoustic technology
```Qualifications```
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Acoustics, or a related field
- Proven experience in acoustic consulting or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of post-production, film, video editing, content creation, and video production processes
- Proficiency in software such as Final Cut Pro, Avid, and Adobe Premiere for video editing purposes
- Familiarity with signal processing techniques and equipment used in acoustic analysis
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members
- Experience in Architectural Acoustics, Environmental Noise, and Vibration Control
- Excellent report writing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in a project
- Knowledge of audio and video systems
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- A degree in acoustical engineering, audio, or a related field is preferred
- Experience in the luxury home, museum, and/or performance space design industry is a plus
