To strengthen our corporate finance team in Muscat, we are seeking an experienced Senior Actuarial Accountant to oversee actuarial analysis, financial reporting, and risk management.

Role Overview

The Senior Actuarial Accountant will be responsible for applying actuarial methods to financial reporting, analyzing risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to provide strategic insights to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform actuarial valuations and financial modeling for insurance and investment portfolios.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Collaborate with finance, audit, and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and actuarial standards.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to actuarial and finance team development.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Professional certification (FIA, ASA, CFA, CPA, ACCA) strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in actuarial accounting, insurance finance, or risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial modeling, financial reporting, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software, MS Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
