Senior AI / Health Systems Engineer
Location: Remote (Pakistan preferred)
Employment: Full-time
Compensation: $USD + bonus
Reports to: CTO / Head of ProductRole Purpose
We are hiring a hands-on senior engineer to design and build production-grade AI systems for healthcare. This role is not academic or experimental. You will work on real health data, real users, and real compliance constraints.
You will own data pipelines, ML integration, and backend systems that support clinical workflows, mental-health platforms, and government or research-grade health systems.What You Will Do (Non-Negotiable Responsibilities)
Engineering & Systems
Design and implement scalable backend systems for healthcare applications
Build and maintain AI/ML pipelines (training, inference, monitoring)
Write clean, testable, production-quality code

  • Integrate ML models into APIs and real user workflows
  • Work with structured and unstructured health data (clinical notes, assessments, outcomes)

Healthcare & Compliance
Translate healthcare workflows into software systems (intake, assessment, care tracking)

  • Design systems with privacy, auditability, and data separation in mind
  • Collaborate with compliance and clinical stakeholders
  • Support standards-aligned thinking (HIPAA-style controls, FHIR awareness is a plus)

Ownership & Collaboration

  • Take ownership of modules end-to-end
  • Participate in technical architecture decisions
  • Mentor junior engineers when needed
  • Communicate clearly with product and leadership teams

Required Skills (Must Have)
Programming & Engineering
Strong Python (non-negotiable)
Experience building backend systems (REST APIs, services)
Solid understanding of data structures, performance, and system design

  • Experience with Docker and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

AI / ML

  • Practical experience with ML models in production
  • Familiarity with:

PyTorch or TensorFlow
NLP and/or predictive modeling

  • Experience moving models from notebook → production

Healthcare Experience (Required)
You must have real exposure to healthcare systems, such as:

  • EHR / EMR systems
  • Clinical, mental health, or public-health platforms
  • Claims, outcomes, or patient-reported data
  • Health research, trials, or regulated health data

(“Interest in healthcare” alone is not sufficient.)Nice to Have (Strong Advantage)
Experience with FHIR or HL7
Exposure to mental health systems or clinical research platforms
Knowledge of data privacy, consent models, and audit logging

  • Experience in government or large-scale health systems
  • Ruby on Rails or .NET exposure (not required)
