Senior Air Conditioning Engineer

Role Overview

The Senior Air Conditioning Engineer will lead the delivery of high‑quality planned and reactive maintenance across airport sites, with a particular focus on compliance, safety, and technical excellence.

The engineer will act as a technical authority, support project delivery, and work closely with our SHEQ team, Peninsula, and client stakeholders to maintain a safe, compliant, and continuously improving operation


Technical & Operational

Deliver planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a wide range of AC and HVAC systems.

Lead complex diagnostics, commissioning, and system optimisation.

Provide technical support to junior engineers and subcontractors.

Ensure all works are completed to high standards, with accurate job sheets, asset updates, and F‑Gas logs.

Support project works, installations, and upgrades across airport terminals.


Quality Assurance

Carry out QA checks on maintenance tasks, installations, and project works.

Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with ISO standards (where applicable).

Support continuous improvement initiatives and root‑cause analysis for recurring issues.

Assist with client reporting, KPI tracking, and monthly SHEQ updates.


Client & Stakeholder Engagement

Attend client meetings, including SHEQ forums and project planning sessions.

Provide clear, professional communication with airport stakeholders and contractors.

Join Teams calls with Peninsula, SHEQ, and client representatives as required.

Support mobilisation of new contracts and onboarding of engineers.


Training & Competence

Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting safe and compliant working practices.

Maintain personal training and certification requirements (F‑Gas, IPAF, PASMA, ECS, etc.).

Contribute to the development of training materials and competency assessments.


Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 5+ years’ experience as an AC/HVAC engineer in commercial or critical environments.

Strong understanding of F‑Gas regulations and REFCOM compliance.

Experience working in high‑security or airport environments (preferred).

Demonstrated experience with RAMS, audits, and SHEQ processes.

Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to lead, mentor, and influence others.

Full UK driving licence.

Security clearance eligibility for airport access.
