Position Description
Performs professional level analysis and control functions in area of assignment.
Major/Essential Functions

Extracts data from Banner Student Information System and the Institutional Research Data Warehouse using established SQL queries and reporting scripts.

Assists in identifying basic data discrepancies and escalates data integrity issues to senior analysts or data owners.

Supports the preparation of state (THECB) and federal (IPEDS) submissions by gathering, organizing, and validating required data elements according to defined specifications.

Assists with the creation and maintenance of standard dashboards and reports using certified census data.

Responds to internal ad-hoc data requests following documented data governance, privacy, and customer service protocols.

Maintains documentation of data sources, definitions, and reporting processes.

Develops working knowledge of FERPA requirements and institutional data governance standards.

Performs routine data validation and error-checking on datasets used for institutional reporting and analysis.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field. Three (3) years related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven years.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Foundational understanding of relational databases and student information systems.

Beginning to intermediate SQL skills for querying and validating datasets.

Introductory proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
