Senior Analyst, Finance

Nasdaq is looking for a Financial Planning Senior Analyst to join the Capital Access Platforms Market Data team within the growing business unit in New York. The FP&A role drives the planning processes for the unit including annual budgets, monthly forecasts, monthly actuals, headcount management, reporting, and analytics. This position is a key member of the Finance team which works very closely with the business unit leadership on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our business leads by providing insightful financial analysis and contributing to business decision-making and capital allocation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with various departments and make a significant impact on our financial strategies for a key Nasdaq business unit.
What you will do
  • Collaborate with business leads to inform budget-setting and ongoing forecasts, aligned with the company's revenue goals.
  • Participate in meetings with business leads to gather insights and provide financial guidance.
  • Record accurate transactions during month-end close procedures.
  • Provide variance commentary between actuals and forecasts, identifying key drivers and trends.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models to support strategic decision-making and capital allocation.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, insights, and analysis to senior management.
  • Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

What we expect
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field
  • 2-5 years of experience in a financial environment applying analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of financial planning business processes and budgeting
  • High proficiency in utilizing Workday, OneStream, MS Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work with large sets of data to spot trends and anomalies, understand the details while being able to tell the big picture story.
  • Keen attention to details.
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and meet tight deadlines; have an ability to remain calm under pressure and in the face of uncertainty.
  • Must be proactive, resourceful, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The base pay range for this role is $79,000 - $138,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
