Senior Architect - Healthcare Planning (Arabic Speaking)

Pioneer Engineering – Riyadh Office is seeking to recruit a highly qualified Senior Architect specialized in Healthcare Planning to support our expanding healthcare portfolio across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The candidate will play a key role in the architectural design and functional planning of hospitals, medical centers, and long-term care facilities, ensuring compliance with Saudi healthcare regulations and international best practices.

2. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (Master’s Degree in Healthcare Planning is an advantage).
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in architecture.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in KSA.
  • Proven experience in hospital design and healthcare facility planning.
  • Strong understanding of hospital functional programming and workflow optimization.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).

3. Required Experience

The candidate must demonstrate hands-on experience in:

  • Master planning and space programming of healthcare facilities.
  • Design of:
  • Inpatient wards
  • Operating theatres & surgical suites
  • ICU / NICU
  • Emergency departments
  • Diagnostic & imaging departments
  • Outpatient clinics
  • Rehabilitation and long-term care facilities
  • Patient and staff circulation planning.
  • Infection control design principles.
  • Medical equipment coordination.
  • Authority submission and approval processes in KSA.

4. Regulatory Knowledge

Strong knowledge of:

  • Ministry of Health (MOH) regulations
  • CBAHI standards
  • Saudi Building Code (SBC)
  • Civil Defense requirements
  • Local municipality regulations

5. Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)
  • Experience in healthcare design standards and international guidelines
  • Ability to prepare design reports, presentations, and authority documentation
  • Strong coordination skills with MEP and structural disciplines

6. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead healthcare architectural design from concept to IFC stage.
  • Develop functional layouts aligned with medical workflow and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with clients, operators, and medical planners.
  • Review and respond to authority comments.
  • Support project meetings and technical presentations.
