Senior Architect - NYC Design Studio

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Architect to lead our NYC Design Studio, driving innovative architectural solutions and inspiring design excellence. This pivotal role combines strategic project oversight with hands-on design development, ensuring that each project aligns with our high standards of creativity, functionality, and sustainability. As a senior leader, you will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver exceptional architectural outcomes while fostering a vibrant studio culture focused on growth and innovation.

Duties

• Lead and manage multiple architectural projects from concept through construction documentation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget parameters.
• Develop comprehensive project schedules, coordinate workflows, and monitor progress using tools like Project management software and AutoCAD.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed construction documents utilizing Revit, ArchiCAD, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper 3D, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite to produce precise drawings and visualizations.
• Collaborate with clients during negotiations to define project scope, scope changes, and contractual terms while maintaining strong relationships for future business development opportunities.
• Conduct construction estimating and budgeting activities to ensure projects remain financially viable without compromising quality.
• Coordinate with construction teams during renovation and new build phases, providing construction management oversight and resolving on-site issues efficiently.
• Utilize Bluebeam and NavisWorks for project review, clash detection, and quality control during design development and construction phases.
• Support business development efforts by preparing proposals, presentations, and marketing materials that showcase the studio’s capabilities in interior design, renovation projects, and innovative architecture solutions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in leading architectural projects within a fast-paced studio environment; minimum of 8 years in architecture or related fields.
• Extensive proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D (including Grasshopper), ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and CAD drafting tools.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling techniques, construction estimating processes, contract negotiation strategies, and construction management practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for effective negotiation with clients and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with building codes, zoning regulations, sustainability practices, and interior design principles relevant to NYC or similar urban environments.

Pay: $84,783.07 - $102,104.34 per year
