Marmi Engineering Co. is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Senior Architect with UPDA Grade A Certification to join our team. The ideal candidate responsible for managing and supervising all architectural aspects of large-scale construction projects directly on-site. The role ensures that the design intent is fully realized during execution while maintaining the highest levels of quality, coordination, safety, and compliance. Acting as the primary architectural authority at the site, this role bridges the gap between design and construction, resolving technical challenges, coordinating with multiple disciplines, and ensuring timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities1. Design Implementation & Technical Oversight
- Ensure that all architectural works on-site are executed in accordance with approved drawings, design intent, and project specifications.
- Review and approve architectural shop drawings, material submittals, and mock-ups.
- Provide detailed design clarifications and technical guidance to contractors and site teams.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality, workmanship, and compliance with design details.
- Manage change control, including the review and approval of architectural variations and value-engineering proposals.
- Coordinate the preparation of accurate as-built drawings and documentation.
2. Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Act as the focal point for coordination between architectural, structural, MEP, façade, and interior design teams.
- Participate in site coordination and technical meetings to resolve interface issues and maintain construction progress.
- Liaise with off-site design consultants to communicate site constraints and obtain design updates or clarifications.
- Support integration of architectural systems with other trades to ensure cohesive execution.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to project standards, local building codes, and sustainability requirements.
- Review workmanship, finishes, and detailing to ensure conformance with architectural quality benchmarks.
- Participate in quality audits, snagging, and handover inspections.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on-site.
4. Project Administration & Documentation
- Maintain up-to-date site records of drawings, instructions, transmittals, and correspondence.
- Prepare detailed site reports highlighting progress, design issues, and recommendations.
- Assist the Project Management team with progress reporting, risk identification, and schedule coordination.
- Review contractor claims related to design and coordinate responses in line with contract requirements.
5. Leadership & Mentorship
- Lead the site architectural team, assigning responsibilities and ensuring effective performance.
- Mentor junior architects, inspectors, and CAD/BIM staff in technical and coordination practices.
- Promote a collaborative and solution-oriented culture across site teams and consultants.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
- Professional License: Registered / Chartered Architect (e.g., RIBA, AIA, LEED AP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 12–15 years of post-graduate experience in architecture.
- At least 5–8 years in a site-based leadership role on large-scale, complex construction projects (mixed-use, high-rise, institutional, or infrastructure).
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong command of AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with project management and collaboration platforms (Primavera, Procore, Aconex, or similar).
- Deep understanding of construction techniques, materials, and building systems integration.
