Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced architecture engineer to join our engineering consultancy team. The candidate must hold a valid UPDA Grade A certification and have strong experience in design, supervision, and coordination with other diciplines in consultancy projects.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture Engineering.
- Mandatory: UPDA Grade A certification.
- Preferred: QCDD certification.
- Strong knowledge of local regulations and authority requirements in Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architectural Design & Development
Prepare complete architectural design packages, including:
- Architectural concept, schematic, and detailed design drawings (DC1/DC2)
- Building permit and authority submission drawings
- Interior design layouts, details, specifications, and finishes
- Fire & Life Safety drawings and coordination
- Architectural details, schedules, and technical specifications
- Tender documentation including BOQ and architectural specification.
Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, authority requirements, and project standards.
2. Authority Coordination & Approvals
Handle submissions and approvals with relevant authorities, including:
- Building Permit Complex (BPC)
- Qatar Civil Defence Department (QCDD)
- Ashghal and other relevant authorities
- Utility and service authorities as required
Respond to authority comments, coordinate revisions, and obtain final approvals and building permits in a timely manner.
3. Design Coordination & Project Management
- Coordinate architectural designs with Structural, MEP, Interior Design, and other disciplines.
- Lead and manage assigned architectural teams on a daily basis.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed according to approved schedules.
- Coordinate and develop responses to authority comments, tender queries, contractor queries, and client requests.
- Work independently or collaboratively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
4. Site Supervision & Construction Support
- Conduct site visits and prepare as-built drawings.
- Supervise architectural and fit-out works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients, and project stakeholders.
- Review project progress and resolve technical issues.
- Monitor construction activities and prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Verify site works and support the Completion Certificate process.
5. Documentation & Deliverables
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements (MOS).
- Review contractor schedules and provide technical comments.
- Prepare and verify as-built drawings and project documentation.
- Ensure proper record keeping and reporting throughout all project phases.
- Maintain quality standards and compliance with project requirements.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of architectural design, detailing, and construction methodologies.
- Excellent understanding of local authority regulations, codes, and submission procedures.
- Experience in architectural design, interior design, and fit-out projects.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication, presentation, and client management skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and other relevant architectural software.
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to mentor and support junior architects and technical staff.
Additional Notes
- Experience in architectural consultancy firms is mandatory.
- Experience in authority submissions and approvals in Qatar is required.
- Site supervision and fit-out experience are highly preferred.
- Immediate availability is a plus.
