As the organization's Artificial Intelligence (AI) subject matter expert, the Senior AI Engineer is a strategic technical leader committed to shaping the AI vision and its execution. This pivotal role is focused on architecting AI systems that seamlessly integrate across the company, pioneering innovative AI advancements, advocating the strategic use of AI, and designing sustainable, future-ready AI solutions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Advancement (20%)
- Regularly review the latest AI research, tools, and technologies to assess their applicability to current organizational challenges.
- Test and pilot new AI frameworks or algorithms that could enhance current systems.
- Upgrade existing AI systems with state-of-the-art technology to improve efficiency and performance.
Innovation Leadership (20%)
- Lead R&D initiatives for AI, encouraging experimentation and the pursuit of innovative solutions.
- Cultivate a team culture that values creativity and continuous learning in AI.
- Partner with academic or industry groups on collaborative projects that push the boundaries of current AI capabilities.
Futureproofing (20%)
- Design AI solutions with scalability in mind, anticipating future expansions or changes in technology.
- Implement standards and frameworks that ensure AI solutions are adaptable to new regulations, technologies, and business needs.
- Conduct foresight exercises with the team to anticipate future AI trends and prepare the organization accordingly.
Systems Integration (15%)
- Evaluate and map out existing IT infrastructure and AI applications to identify integration points and potential gaps.
- Develop integration plans and oversee the implementation to ensure seamless communication between AI systems and other enterprise solutions.
- Coordinate with IT teams to ensure that AI tools are compatible with existing databases, software, and hardware.
Strategic Utilization (15%)
- Work with business leaders to identify opportunities for AI to add value and meet strategic goals.
- Guide the AI team in setting priorities and choosing the most impactful AI projects.
- Develop best practices for the deployment of AI models to maximize their effectiveness.
AI Advocacy (10%)
- Organize workshops and training sessions to build AI literacy within the company.
- Present on AI topics to internal and external audiences to raise awareness and demonstrate the company’s AI capabilities.
- Publish articles, blog posts, or white papers on the organization's AI innovations and insights.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Relevant work experience may be considered as an equivalent to education requirement.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in AI or related technical areas, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record in developing and executing sophisticated AI models and systems.
- Familiarity with cloud services like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Robust understanding of AI, machine learning, and deep learning paradigms.
- Demonstrated leadership in AI project management and strategic implementation.
- Effective team leadership skills with an ability to mentor and inspire.
- Proficiency in programming languages and AI-related frameworks.
- Experience with systems architecture and large-scale integration.
- In-depth knowledge of AI ethics and responsible AI frameworks.
- Adaptability in fast-paced and evolving tech landscapes.
- Excellent independent and collaborative working abilities.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet critical deadlines.
