Senior Arts Teacher

Job Title: Sr. Art Teacher (Drawing & Painting)

Employment Type: 1099/Contract, Convertible to W2 on successful completion of 1 year. 40 hrs/week

Locations & Schedule: Lune Spark Centers at to locations:

Holly Springs: Monday & Wed 12:30PM-9PM (146 W Holly Springs Rd, Holly Springs, NC 27540)

Chapel Hill: Tuesday & Friday 1:30PM-9PM (250 S Elliot Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514)

Chapel Hill: Saturday 9 AM - 5 PM (250 S Elliot Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514)

Position Overview:

Lune Spark is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Art Teacher to lead our art programs. The ideal candidate is not only a skilled educator but also a practicing artist with an impressive portfolio of their work. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a creative environment and is eager to inspire the next generation of artists through engaging lessons, mentorship, and hands-on projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Department Lead: Acting as senior teacher, working with other teachers in the department to shape up the curriculum and growth
• Teaching Courses: Grow students' skillset from beginner to expert level
• Teaching Camps & Workshops: Within the schedule & while courses ramp up
• Showcase Preparation: Ensure that students are well-prepared for participation in exhibitions and art showcases, guiding them through portfolio-building for presentations.
• Skill Level Assessment: Conduct assessments of students’ progress and issue certifications that correspond with their artistic development.
• Substitute Teacher: When other faculty members are out of office, cover their classes as a substitute teacher.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience teaching Fine Arts (specifically drawing and painting).
• A practicing artist with a Master's-level skill set in fine arts.

Reporting:

This position reports directly to the CEO of Lune Spark.
