Overview:
VTG is seeking a Senior Associate DevOps Engineer to support our Team in Manassas, VA. This role requires onsite work four days a week in a classified environment.
Dozens of Navy tactical systems ranging between legacy software installed on bare metal to micro-containers running in an on-premises cloud need to be delivered, installed, integrated, and tested rapidly and securely. This role will involve developing fixes, delivery, installation, integration, and testing of Navy tactical software systems.
Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will work with a vast team of Testers, Integrators, Integrated Logistics Specialists, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, and System Operators. The candidate will be responsible for:

Installation, integration, and troubleshooting of systems in multiple test beds

Assisting in software build and delivery

Provide technical input to program managers and government representatives

Develop, integrate, and test combat sub-systems into a larger integrated tactical system
Qualifications:
- Experience as a DevOps, Software, Integration, or Test engineer (or similar role)

Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology (or similar degree)

Comfortable working in Linux from the command line (RHEL/Centos 7, 8, 9)

Successful completion of background check

Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance
Desired Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

Experience with modern PaaS environment tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, KVM, or Helm

Experience with CI/CD tools, languages, and frameworks (Jenkins, Ansible, GitOps, Nexus, Robot Framework)

Experience with shell scripting languages

Experience with Automated Testing

Experience developing software with C++ or Java

Experience as a Linux administrator

Networking experience

Experience with naval tactical systems, preferably fire control systems.
