Job Purpose
The valuation and planning senior associate supports the valuation of EDO’s investment portfolio and provides insights to senior leadership to inform decision‑making and drive sustainable growth.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Valuation & Financial Modeling

Develop, maintain, and enhance complex, dynamic financial models for existing assets, new investment opportunities, and potential mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Perform valuation analyses using Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and other relevant methodologies, including the valuation of subsidiaries and portfolio companies.

Conduct market, macroeconomic, and commodity price analysis to support valuation assumptions, investment decisions, and strategic planning.

Calculate and maintain Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) and related financial parameters, incorporating market risk premiums, beta estimation, capital structure, and country risk adjustments.

Regularly update financial and valuation models to reflect changes in market conditions, operational performance, fiscal terms, and strategic priorities.

Perform sensitivity, scenario, and stress testing analyses to assess key value drivers, risks, and opportunities.

Analyze investment risks and opportunities and provide structured financial insights and recommendations to senior management and leadership.

Collaborate with the Treasury and Financial Control team to support the development, review, and maintenance of integrated financial forecasting models to project cash flows, revenues, operating costs, capital expenditures, and funding requirements for existing assets and potential investments.
Strategic Business Planning & Analysis

Support the coordination of the annual business planning cycle, including the annual budget exercise.

Support in developing and updating the company’s Corporate Strategy and ensure the business plan reflects the defined strategic objectives.

Review and analyze business plans submitted by subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives.

Collaborate with the Asset Management team to:

Provide the executive management with a recommendation and financial insights on the subsidiaries Business Plan.

Monitor the performance of subsidiaries against their business plans, identify risks, and propose corrective actions.

Conduct regular assessment of the company’s existing assets and assess new prospects.

Interface with subsidiaries and portfolio companies to ensure clear understanding, alignment, and validation of their business plans, underlying assumptions, forecasts, and strategic initiatives.
Budgets Monitoring & Stakeholder Management

Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.

Collaborate with executive management and stakeholders to develop investment strategies aligned with the company's strategic objectives and risk profile.

Assist in the preparation of management presentations and periodic reports.
Education and Experience
• A bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferably in finance) or a master’s degree is preferable.
• 5+ years’ experience in the oil and gas industry with a focus on Exploration, Development and Production
• Strong skills in analyzing large datasets efficiently and able to derive insights quickly and integrate with other discipline inputs to form a credible view.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and financial modeling techniques.
• Strong analytical mindset, ability to deal with sometimes conflicting data on different scales, uncertainties in data and model parameters.
• Project management at knowledge level with commercial mindset.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing to various stakeholders
