Established Jupiter, Florida high net worth estate planning and real estate practice is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney who is compassionate, highly self-motivated and possesses a strong commitment to stellar work and attentive client service. Responsibilities & Duties:
- Meet with clients of all wealth levels, including high net worth, to understand their estate planning goals, family dynamics, and financial circumstances and then provide comprehensive counsel on strategies, wealth preservation, transfer techniques, and tax implications.
- Create customized sophisticated estate planning and charitable giving strategies involving various trust structures, including Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts, SLATS, GRATs, Generation-Skipping Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, and ILITs.
- Manage probate and trust administrations from initiation through closure, including guiding clients and beneficiaries with empathy throughout the process, drafting court pleadings and preparing federal estate tax Form 706s.
- With minimal supervision, lead and take ownership and responsibility for client work from initial meeting through completion with a commitment to timeliness and client-centered accurate work.
- Supervise and mentor talented associate attorney and paralegal team.
Applicant Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Florida Bar.
- Must have minimum 5 years substantive experience in estate planning, preferably with minimum 3 years in sophisticated estate planning for high net worth clients.
- Exceptional skill and efficiency in meticulous drafting and reviewing of high quality core and sophisticated estate planning documents.
- Proven track record of advising clients on wealth transfer strategies, gift tax, estate tax, and generation-skipping tax planning.
- Experience designing strategies that address income tax mitigation, estate and gift tax exposure, generation-skipping transfer tax, and charitable planning techniques. Deep understanding of advanced planning tools including irrevocable trusts, SLATS and GRATS.
- Experience in trust and estate administration, probate and trust litigation experience a plus.
- Experience leading prospective and existing client meetings with ability to actively listen to build rapport and long-term relationships with clients and advising with empathy during an often emotional time.
- A portable book of business is preferred but not required as we have an active over twenty year legacy practice.
- Experience with negotiation and settlement processes and techniques.
- Court hearing experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex and diverse client work with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of professionalism, timeliness and accuracy.
- Must be ambitious, motivated, hard-working and a self-starter.
- High-level organizational and time-management skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Lawgic and Lexis Nexis.
