Job Summary
The Senior Auto Spare Parts Officer is responsible for managing the procurement, inventory control, distribution, and availability of automotive spare parts. The role ensures optimal stock levels, cost efficiency, supplier coordination, and timely support to maintenance, service, and sales teams while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Stock Management
- Plan, monitor, and control spare parts inventory to ensure uninterrupted availability.
- Maintain optimal stock levels, minimizing overstocking and stock-outs.
- Conduct periodic stock audits, reconciliations, and cycle counts.
- Analyze inventory movement and prepare forecasting and demand plans.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Source spare parts from approved vendors ensuring quality, price competitiveness, and timely delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance and recommend improvements or alternatives.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
Operations & Coordination
- Coordinate with maintenance, workshop, service, and sales teams to fulfill spare parts requirements.
- Ensure correct identification, coding, and documentation of spare parts.
- Manage spare parts issuance, returns, and warranty claims.
- Support breakdowns and urgent requirements with quick turnaround.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory, and consumption using ERP or inventory systems.
- Prepare regular reports on stock status, consumption trends, aging inventory, and cost analysis.
- Ensure proper documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure spare parts meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Follow safety, environmental, and company compliance guidelines in storage and handling.
Team Support & Leadership (if applicable)
- Guide and supervise junior spare parts staff or storekeepers.
- Provide training on inventory systems, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in automotive spare parts management, preferably in a senior role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive components and spare parts identification.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is an advantage.
