As we expand our engineering team in Dubai, we are hiring a Senior Backend Developer to strengthen our core backend systems.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with strong Node.js expertise and proven experience building and maintaining scalable backend systems. This role is hands-on and requires ownership of backend services, API design, performance optimization, and close collaboration with frontend, mobile, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services used by web and mobile applications.
• Design and optimize data models and database structures.
• Ensure backend systems meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
• Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams on API contracts and integrations.
• Contribute to backend architecture decisions and technical best practices.
• Review code and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimations, and technical discussions.
• Monitor, debug, and improve production systems.

• Required Qualifications
• 6+ years of professional backend or software development experience.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on Node.js experience in production environments.
• Strong experience with backend frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS.
• Solid knowledge of REST API design and backend architecture principles.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Experience handling asynchronous processing and background jobs.
• Strong focus on code quality, scalability, and maintainability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microservices or modular backend architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment workflows.
• Experience with performance monitoring and optimization.
• Experience working in Agile or product-driven environments.
• Exposure to high-traffic or large-scale systems.
