Senior Billing Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Billing Manager to lead our billing operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of our revenue cycle management processes. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the billing team to ensure timely and accurate invoicing, accounts receivable management, and account reconciliation.
• Oversee the preparation of journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and analysis of financial data in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
• Manage complex billing processes including medical billing, governmental accounting, non-profit accounting, and revenue cycle management.
• Conduct thorough account analysis to identify discrepancies, resolve billing issues related to CPT coding, ICD-10 coding standards, or other medical terminology.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on negotiation efforts for accounts receivable collections and dispute resolution.
• Ensure adherence to compliance standards related to federal regulations, including analysis skills for audit preparation and internal control assessments.
• Facilitate training sessions on technical accounting procedures, data entry accuracy, and phone etiquette for team members.
• Support internal audits by maintaining meticulous records of all billing activities and documentation related to revenue recognition.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting principles along with experience in public accounting environments.
• Proficiency in various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or equivalent systems.
• Strong understanding of medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD-10 standards, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and governmental accounting standards.
• Expertise in accounts receivable/payable management, account reconciliation, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Excellent analysis skills for financial data interpretation and problem-solving within complex revenue cycles.
• Effective negotiation skills for collections and dispute resolution efforts; strong customer service orientation.
• High proficiency in data entry tasks such as 10-key typing with accuracy; solid math skills for financial calculations.
