Senior Billing Specialist

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Billing Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex billing processes, ensuring accuracy in accounts receivable, and maintaining compliance with financial standards and regulations. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management, enhance customer service experiences, and support the overall financial health of our organization. Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts receivable activities by tracking payments, resolving billing discrepancies, and following up on overdue accounts through effective negotiation and customer service.
  • Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies related to debits & credits, journal entries, or account analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) standards during all billing procedures.
  • Support the revenue cycle management process by handling CPT coding, ICD-10 coding for medical billing, and medical collections when applicable.
  • Conduct detailed data entry and analysis to support corporate accounting, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounts payable, account reconciliation, and financial analysis to optimize cash flow and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments with a focus on billing or revenue cycle management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with medical billing systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and account analysis.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding standards, and healthcare billing procedures.
  • Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for account reconciliation and financial data review.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while maintaining high levels of phone etiquette and customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills including data entry proficiency (10 key typing), analysis skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Join us in delivering exceptional financial services through technical expertise and a passion for accuracy!

Pay: $66,051.09 - $71,480.88 per year
