Are you a BIM specialist, embracing innovative ways of working and ready to help shape a practice-wide BIM environment? We are seeking a senior BIM coordinator to join our London studio.

This role supports the delivery of local projects for clients in London and the South alongside a broader practice-wide remit. DIA has over 140 staff across the UK, with around 30 technical staff in London where we are currently delivering the most complex BIM projects.

You'll help shape our BIM environment, contribute to strategic digital initiatives, and improve internal systems and processes. The role involves defining BIM scopes, championing tools and systems, and engaging with clients to support business development. Duties and Responsibilities

BIM Implementation & Coordination

  • Define/maintain BIM standards (EIR, AIR)
  • Develop BIM Execution Plans (MIDPs, TIDPs, Protocols)
  • Coordinate models and lead clash detection
  • Conduct model audits for quality/compliance

Modelling & Documentation

  • Oversee BIM model development and ensure structured data outputs (IFC, COBie, Uniclass)
  • Maintain/enhance Asset Library
  • Integrate heritage asset data
  • Advise on geo-spatial survey tools and workflows
  • Support unified information management aligned with ISO standards and Building Safety Act

Technology & Data Management

  • Manage BIM software and technical support
  • Develop tailored digital design stacks
  • Recommend tools for AI-enhanced workflows
  • Support integration with Microsoft 365, GIS, dashboards, CDEs
  • Ensure ISO 19650 and internal compliance

Training & Support

  • Deliver training, CPDs, webinars, workshops
  • Create eLearning and best practice guides
  • Coordinate onboarding and learning pathways
  • Mentor BIM roles and foster digital confidence

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Advise clients and contractors on BIM implementation
  • Represent DIA at industry events and forums
  • Support business development through BIM value demonstration
  • Engage in strategic BIM partnerships (e.g. universities)

Practice Development

  • Support bidding and project winning
  • Research and recommend new BIM technologies
  • Monitor BIM trends and delivery improvements
  • Identify and communicate common BIM issues
  • Prepare materials for CPDs, training, audits, and knowledge sharing

Note: Duties may evolve in consultation with the post holder.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years BIM coordination in AEC sector
  • Proficient in Autodesk tools (especially Revit)
  • Strong understanding of UK BIM standards (BS EN ISO19650)
  • Experience in clash detection, model auditing, structured data delivery
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience mentoring/training in BIM workflows
  • Confident communicator with clients and external stakeholders

Desirable

  • Experience presenting BIM to clients clearly and compellingly
  • Heritage/conservation project experience
  • Knowledge of heritage BIM standards and digital twins
  • Experience with Rhino.Inside. Revit, Dynamo, scripting tools
  • Autodesk/BuildingSMART certifications
  • Fluent English
  • Memberships (e.g. nima, English Heritage)
  • Sustainability qualification
