Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on accounting professional to take ownership of day-to-day financial operations and support the transition from outsourced accounting to an internal finance function. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate books, executing the monthly close, and ensuring strong cash and financial controls across multiple entities. This is not a data entry role—this position requires independent ownership and problem-solving.
Core Responsibilities
General Ledger & Accounting Ownership
· Maintain and manage general ledger in QuickBooks
· Record journal entries, including accruals and intercompany transactions
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial data
Bank Reconciliations & Cash Accuracy
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Investigating and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate cash reporting across entities
Accounts Payable & Cash Management
- Manage AP process in Bill.com
- Ensure proper coding, approvals, and documentation
- Support weekly cash flow visibility and planning
Monthly Close Process
- Execute monthly close (target: <15 days, improving over time)
- Prepare accruals and supporting schedules
- Maintain organized work papers and documentation
Payroll Accounting Support
- Partner with HR Director on payroll processing
- Record payroll entries and reconcile payroll accounts
- Ensure payroll-related liabilities and accruals are accurate
Revenue & Data Reconciliation
- Reconcile financial data from outsourced billing partner (ZOTEC)
- Identify discrepancies between expected and actual collections
- Support CFO in analyzing financial performance
Process Improvement & Transition
- Assist in transitioning accounting functions from third-party providers in-house
- Document processes and improve internal controls
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting / bookkeeping experience
- Strong experience with:
- QuickBooks
- Bill.com
- Demonstrated ownership of:
- Bank reconciliations
- General ledger
- Month-end close
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting
- Ability to work independently and solve problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare or physician group experience
- Multi-entity accounting experience
- Experience working with outsourced billing or RCM vendors
- Experience in a transitioning or high-growth environment

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
