Who You Are

We're looking for a multidisciplinary Senior Brand & Web Designer to join our dynamic design team. This is a high impact role where you'll be instrumental in bringing the Gradle brand to life across web, motion, and 3D. You'll own the visual identity of our website, landing pages, and supporting brand assets—crafting cohesive, scalable digital experiences that are both bold and functional. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the visual language of Developer Productivity Engineering and directly influence how we communicate our innovative solutions to our customers.

You'll be stepping into a pivotal role as we continue to evolve our digital presence, including a complete redesign of Gradle.com to reflect our new AI-powered product vision. This isn't just about making things look good; it's about translating complex technical concepts into compelling visual narratives that resonate with our audience.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of our web design, from creating captivating assets and micro-animations to building and maintaining web pages based on our existing templates.
• Work closely with our Design, Engineering, Marketing, and Product teams, ensuring design-to-code fidelity and a unified vision.
• Drive the redesign of Gradle.com's homepage and other key pages, ensuring seamless cross-pollination and deep linking to our products and solutions.
• Create static and animated graphic assets for use in product and marketing with tools such as Lottie, Rive, Spline, Adobe After Effects, and Cinema 4D (or your preferred 3D modeling software).
• Contribute significantly to our existing design system, creating new components, maintaining the system's integrity, and ensuring consistency across all digital touchpoints.
• Help define and evolve design patterns and interaction guidelines.
• Conduct audits to ensure visual consistency and design integrity while actively contributing to improvements in team processes, tooling, and documentation.

Minimum qualifications

• 5+ years experience in scalable and responsive web & brand design ideally within fast-paced, high-expectation environments like creative agencies or design studios.
• A strong portfolio showcasing both visual and systematic design work with a proven ability to create high fidelity prototypes (Figma, React, HTML/CSS, or Figma Make).
• Strong skills in Figma are essential.
• Experience working within and contributing to a design system.
• Strong understanding of accessibility, usability, and interaction design principles.
• Excellent organizational, collaboration, and communication skills (written and verbal English) to effectively work with diverse stakeholders, from executive leadership to individual developers.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience designing motion/animated assets (Lottie, After Effects, etc.)
• Experience in web based 3D tools like Spline.
• Comfortable navigating developer tools, Git, and build processes.

• The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role's scope and complexity, and the candidate's experience and expertise, and may vary. The estimated range for total on target earnings (including base salary and on target incentive pay) for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year.
