Role Overview

This is a full-cycle Business Development (BD) role focused on selling digital marketing services (SEO, Paid Media, Analytics) to mid market and enterprise clients. Unlike typical agencies that teach sales after hiring, Seer seeks candidates with years of hands on technical marketing experience to lead strategy and sales conversations immediately.

The role targets a $2.5M revenue target (split between managing inbound leads and strategic outbound efforts), closing annual engagements of $110K+.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pipeline Management: Manage inbound leads and develop a personal pipeline through strategic outbound efforts to close new business.
  • Strategy & Consulting: Collaboratively create and present comprehensive SEO, PPC, and Analytics strategies to C level executives and prospective clients.
  • Discovery & Qualification: Lead discovery calls, conduct preliminary competitive analyses, and qualify leads using the MEDDIC sales methodology.
  • Account Management: Identify and close growth opportunities with current clients; ensure a smooth transition ("white glove approach") between the Business Strategy team and execution teams.
  • Proposal & Negotiation: Prepare and deliver site specific proposals and negotiate contracts with legal support.
  • Thought Leadership: Contribute to the company blog, speak at conferences, and represent Seer at in person events.
  • Travel: % travel required for client visits and conferences.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise: Years of hands on experience in SEO, Paid Media, or both. Ability to interpret technical SEO audits, analyze ROAS stories, and identify real business problems.
  • Tool Proficiency: Expertise with SEO/PPC tools including SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, and Ahrefs.
  • Sales Aptitude: Experience presenting to senior stakeholders (C suite), handling pushback, and driving deals to closure. Familiarity with MEDDIC is preferred.
  • Communication: Strong diplomatic skills to convey strategic truths to clients without damaging relationships.
  • AI Fluency: Active use of AI tools for marketing strategy and a demonstrated interest in AI maturity.
  • Process Ownership: Ability to manage the full sales cycle from lead qualification to client kick off, including time management and clear communication.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $93,000 - $125,000 per year (determined by skills/experience).
  • Bonus: Performance based bonus available.
  • Evaluation: Compensation review at least once a year.
