The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst-Health Services position is responsible for supporting data driven decision making for the Health Services department by transforming healthcare data into useful information. This position supports operational effectiveness and process improvement initiatives across the Medicaid, Medicare and Commercial programs. This role assists with problem resolution, reporting and analytics to support the ACHNs, Utilization Management, Care Management, Quality Improvement and Population Health activities. This individual is responsible for understanding the essential functions for the various teams within Health Services and will manage analytical projects with the goal of improving reporting accuracy, insights and operational efficiencies within the department. This role is also responsible for assisting in department compliance with various government entities such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), State of Alabama Medicaid agency and applicable oversight agencies. May serve as Population Health Data Analyst for the ACHN program.

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, analytics, business, data science or a related field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in healthcare analytics, business intelligence or equivalent experience
• Professional interpersonal communication skills with internal customers and stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of business intelligence and reporting tools (e,g., Power BI, Tableau or equivalent)
• Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and data analysis techniques
• Organized and efficient with the ability to proritize multiple requests
• Ability to apply logical an deductive reasoning to data interpretation
• Demonstrated attention to data accuracy and quality

PREFERRED:

• Master's degree in related field
• Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in Tableau software or similar analysis/visualization tool
• High level of familiarity with ICD10 procedure and diagnosis codes
• Demonstrated experience developing or initiating new operational projects and programs
• Knowledge of Medicare Advantage and MAPD Plans, Health Maintenance Organizations, and/or other Health Insurance Operations
• Ability to interpret written health care quality measure specifications and apply them to business operations
