Job Summary
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in our procurement team, driving the sourcing and purchasing strategies that ensure our organization operates efficiently and effectively. Your expertise in supply chain management and materials management will empower you to negotiate contracts, manage inventory control, and optimize logistics. You’ll collaborate with various departments to align purchasing decisions with production planning and merchandising goals, ultimately contributing to the overall success of our operations.
What you’ll do
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to enhance procurement processes.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Manage inventory levels through effective materials management and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) techniques.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between purchasing activities and supply chain objectives.
- Utilise ERP systems such as SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 for efficient procurement operations.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform sourcing decisions.
- Oversee e-commerce purchasing strategies to maximise online sales opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all procurement activities.
Basic qualifications
- Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of purchasing/buying experience for electro-mechanical parts and components.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Hands-on experience using ERP or MRP systems for material planning.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
