The Rubber Group is looking for a full time Senior Buyer. The role will be Hybrid and require at least 2 days in office. In office at either the Laconia, NH or Rochester, NH plant.
MUST HAVE MANUFACATURING EXPEREINCE AS A BUYER
The Senior Buyer is responsible for leading procurement activities across the organization, ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. This role is overseeing buyers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to ensure purchasing operations align with company goals and compliance standards. The Senior Buyer plays a critical role in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and driving continuous improvement in procurement processes. Other duties as assigned. Reports to the Supply Chain Manager.
Essential/Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Procurement Leadership
- Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of buyers, ensuring timely and accurate purchasing.
- Responsible for organization wide purchasing and purchase order activity.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives.
- Monitor purchasing performance metrics and drive improvements in efficiency and cost savings.
- Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and long-term partnerships.
- Resolve supplier issues and ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and compliance standards.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and risk assessments.
- Team Oversight
- Supervise, mentor, and train buyers to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
- Assign workloads, set priorities, and ensure accountability within the team.
- Support team as an escalation point
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Strategic Sourcing
- Analyze and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Lead sourcing initiatives for key categories and high-value purchases.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and align procurement with business needs.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
- APICS Certification is a plus
- 5+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, with prior supervisor or leadership experience.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of working in a regulated environment- ITAR, ISO, etc., compliance standards, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex supplier relationships.
