Job Overview:

The Buyer is responsible for the review of material requirements against demand and forecast to determine need for raising orders for purchasing raw materials, components, and finished goods to meet customer order requirements efficiently for 2 production facilities. This role will require a clear communicator who is able to liaise directly with vendors local to the production facilities and solve supply related issues or escalate when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Procurement Activities (50%)

Material requirement planning review, Oversee order placement, Pushing and pulling orders based on demand requirements and fluctuations, Proactively following up on orders due, chasing late orders and escalating issues where appropriate. Following up on order acknowledgements to ensure accuracy of delivery date to request, pricing and quantities. There will also be adhoc requirements to obtain supplier quotes, and review proposals with internal teams.

  • Lead Supply Chain Improvements (10%)

Identify and actively participate in supply chain and supplier productivity improvements.

  • Supplier Selection & Performance (10%)

Participate in supplier selection, monitor performance, and drive corrective actions in areas like on-time delivery and commercial compliance.

  • Maintain Product Costing (10%)

Ensure accurate costing for materials and components. Oversee supplier compliance with commercial, quality, and legal standards.

  • Troubleshoot Supply Problems (10%)

Analyze supply issues that impact on-time delivery and collaborate on solutions.

  • Issue Purchase Orders (10%)

Manage purchase orders for MRO/Indirect material as needed.

Supervision:

  • Works independently on routine tasks and receives general instructions on new assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience

Associates degree preferred with minimum 3 years of experience in operations planning or purchasing.

  • Certifications

CIPS / APICS or other planning certification preferred. Experience with MRP/ERP systems is essential

  • Language Skills

Strong proficiency in English with clear communication is required.

Pay: ₹17,045.45 - ₹29,830.90 per month
