Senior Buyer - Operational Purchasing

About the Role

The Senior Buyer - Operational Procurement plays a pivotal role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective procurement to support aviation and aero engine MRO operations. This role involves collaborating with various departments to understand procurement demands, managing end-to-end purchasing activities, negotiating with suppliers, and optimizing vendor relationships. The Senior Buyer drives cost savings, ensures compliance with aviation regulations, and leverages market insights and procurement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to business success.

Your Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to plan and execute procurement strategies aligned with business needs and aviation standards.
• Lead sourcing initiatives including Request for Proposal (RFP) processes for indirect materials and services above AED 500K, focusing on value, quality, and compliance.
• Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, adherence to policies, and timely approvals.
• Track orders from placement through delivery, coordinate logistics, and manage transportation compliance for international shipments.
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders by providing regular procurement status updates and reporting on supplier performance and cost-saving opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiate competitive terms, and evaluate supplier performance to drive cost efficiencies and service improvements.
• Conduct quality inspections of received goods, address discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and internal teams.
• Perform vendor research, onboarding, and compliance checks to maintain a diversified and reliable supplier base aligned with aviation safety standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within procurement policies, processes, and training to enhance overall procurement effectiveness.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Buyer with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in operational procurement or supply chain management, preferably within aviation, aerospace, or MRO sectors. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or an equivalent field. Professional certifications such as CIPS or CPSM are advantageous.

The successful candidate will possess strong strategic sourcing skills, effective communication, and negotiation abilities. Proficiency with ERP procurement systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and procurement analytics tools is a plus. You demonstrate analytical thinking, attention to data accuracy, and have a solid understanding of market trends and regulatory compliance. A proactive problem-solver and collaborative team player, you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to driving procurement excellence and business value.
