Senior Chemist – Aerosol Coatings

Diamond Vogel is searching for a full-time, experienced Industrial and/or Architectural Liquid Coatings Chemist that will lead our efforts to modernize our Aerosol Coatings Platforms at the Menomonee Falls, WI, location. The right candidate will help us continue to focus on growth and expansion as we cross the threshold of our second century of delivering quality coating solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of aerosol coating formulations.
• Apply expert knowledge of organic chemistry and material science to troubleshoot complex formulation issues, enhance product performance, and ensure product stability and safety.
• Build strong partnerships with both internal and external functions (such as R&D, Product Management, vendors, customers, etc.).
• Redevelop Diamond Vogel’s Aerosol Product Platforms, ensuring efficient manufacturing to satisfy both our Industrial and Architectural customers.
• Guide, teach, and mentor less experienced technical personnel in the R&D Department.

Skills and Experience:

• Possesses 10-15 years of Liquid Coatings formulation experience in many Chemistries: acrylic, alkyd, epoxy, phenolic, polyaspartics, urethanes, and others.
• Demonstrates high level of technical knowledge with a strong track record of product and process development, innovation, and commercialization in coating technologies.
• Shows ability to develop and implement project plans with proven technical leadership.
• Proven experience in the building and optimization of coatings product platforms as well as a background in color development/color matching is a plus.
• Displays outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other equivalent scientific field required.
