Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior Civil, Structural & Architectural Engineer (Minimum 12 years of Experience)
DEPARTMENT: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or Refinery
LOCATION: Pune, India

SUMMARY:

The Senior CSA Engineer will support the Lead CSA Engineer on various projects by performing design calculations, finite element modeling, stress analysis, and designing retaining structures, foundations, compressor foundations with dynamic loads, pile foundations, and steel connections. They will ensure compliance with building and structural codes and are responsible for completing all assigned tasks within the required timelines.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Execute design, analysis, evaluation, and technical documentation for assigned projects in accordance with engineering principles, business standards, and project requirements.
- Collect and interpret engineering data, develop project design bases and specifications, and perform detailed engineering, including calculations, modeling, and technical reports.
-Ensure all work complies with relevant codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, PIP, AWS, NFPA) and company procedures.
-Perform seismic design of steel and concrete structures, including seismic steel connection design.
-Design simple to complex structures such as foundations, retaining structures, and steel structures, including foundations for vessels, pumps, cooling towers, compressors (dynamic loads), combined mats, and deep foundations (ACIP piles, precast piles, pipe piles, helical piles).
-Apply experience in cast-in-place and Hilti post-installed anchors.
-Conduct detailed technical analysis and provide technical leadership for project teams.
-Provide engineering sketches and guidance to designers/drafters for preparation of civil/structural drawings and 3D models.
-Design or retrofit existing steel and concrete structures.
-Communicate significant technical issues or developments in a timely manner.
-Support proposal development and collaborate with team members to improve engineering designs and review work products.
-Safeguard company intellectual property.
-Familiarity with RISA 3D is preferred; knowledge of foundation analysis tools (PCAMats, MAT 3D, Foundation 3D, RISAFoundation) is desirable.
-Perform checking of steel and concrete designs prepared by engineers and designers.
-Carry out tasks assigned by the Lead CSA Engineer or CSA Manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration in India is preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of engineering experience in industrial oil & gas, petrochemical, or refinery facilities.
- Preference given to candidates with strong industrial concrete design experience.
