Senior Cloud Migration Engineer

Position Overview Lead a multi-year datacenter to cloud transformation initiative, managing complex migration programs using hybrid project management methodologies.

Program Leadership

• Drive end-to-end datacenter to cloud migration strategy and execution
• Manage multi-year transformation roadmap with clear milestones and deliverables
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across infrastructure, applications, security, and business units
• Establish governance frameworks and decision-making processes

Project Management

• Apply Agile/Scrum methodologies for iterative migration waves
• Utilize Waterfall approaches for infrastructure and compliance-driven workstreams
• Manage hybrid project frameworks based on workload requirements
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation

Stakeholder Management

• Communicate program status, risks, and dependencies to executive leadership
• Facilitate alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders
• Manage vendor relationships and third-party service providers
• Drive change management and organizational readiness

Risk & Quality Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and dependencies
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and organizational standards
• Establish quality gates and validation criteria for migration phases
• Implement continuous improvement processes

• 8+ years of technical program/project management experience
• 5+ years managing cloud migration or infrastructure transformation programs

• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, networking, and virtualization
• Experience with migration tools and methodologies (6Rs framework)
• Understanding of security, compliance, and disaster recovery in cloud environments

Project Management
Agile/Scrum: Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent; experience leading Agile teams
Waterfall: Proficiency in traditional SDLC and waterfall methodologies
Hybrid Approaches: Ability to blend methodologies based on project needs
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred

• Proven ability to manage programs with budgets >$10M
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Strategic thinking with attention to operational detail
• Experience managing geographically distributed teams

• Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
• Experience with ITIL, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering practices
• Background in healthcare, finance, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with migration assessment tools (CloudEndure, Azure Migrate, etc.)
• Experience with FinOps and cloud cost optimization

• Budget adherence and cost optimization
• Zero critical security or compliance incidents
• Stakeholder satisfaction scores
• Team velocity and productivity improvements
